FALL Into November

The month of November is a month dedicated to appreciating what you have and those around you. Sitting at the dinner table with family, friends, and a huge feast is a lot to be thankful for. Continue the good spirits and grateful attitude as you go out this month! Sip on wine and paint lovely creations, embrace glitz & glamour at Vizcaya or roller-skate at Faena Forum. November 1-5

Catch the wave to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show! On November 1st be prepared to be in awe with over 1,000 boats to view from water to land. 900 exhibitors will be present from yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts. General admission is $29 and kids under six are free! A VIP section located in the superyacht area is available for a higher price and features an open bar and gourmet food. If you’re a boat fan or boat owner, make sure to rev your engine and head to this out-of-this-world boat show!

Saturdays & Sundays, 1pm-6pm

Craving frozen drinks, Caribbean food, and a refreshing day by the pool? Well, you’re in luck. Take a chill-pill this weekend as you head over to the glamorous Nautilus hotel. During their Weekend Asado event, enjoy tropical, relaxing beats by local DJs while chowing down grilled shrimp skewers, churrasco steaks and more. If the heat gets to be too much while shaking your hips to the music, cool down with a frozen specialty cocktail like their Frozé.

The 8th annual Boca Raton Wine and Food Festival is a foodie and wine enthusiast’s heaven. Over the course of this event, participants will be able to saunter down a lavish walkway while trying different food from around the world. Tables will be decorated to represent vast countries and regions around the globe so you can pick and choose as you go along. For craft brew fans, a new area inside the Grand Tasting is there to make all your craft brew dreams come true. And for the wine-heads, there’s bottles of each wine on deck, so if you like what you sampled, you can take one home with you! Cultural music, boutiques, and seminars from chefs will all be a part of this event as well; just make sure to come with an empty stomach!

November 8 & 15

Reach higher; run far! Run all the way…to a bar? Run2Date has two dates in November and is an opportunity to not only work out those glutes, but to show ‘em off later too as it combines exercise with date-night. It is a 5K race where you sign up and indicate your dating status: “Up for Grabs”, “Its Complicated”, or “Hooked-Up”. After running the heart-racing 5K, you will find yourself at an exclusive event for those that crossed the finish line. Open bars, live DJs, food, interactive displays and lawn games will all set the mood to get you socializing all throughout the night. So Run2Date before its 2Late!

November 12, 12pm-10pm

The OMA designed cultural centerpiece of the Faena District Miami Beach at Faena Forum, continues its Second Sundays sessions this month. The immersive, participatory roller-skate/ dancing rink will feature performances by Miami-based artists, free roller-skating, and craft cocktails. Ximena Caminos, Artistic Director and Chair of Faena Art, remarked, “We have reimagined the roller dancing rink for the interior of the Faena Forum as a means of creating connectivity and interaction, to celebrate community, to open our doors for everyone to participate, play, dance, and to break down the barriers in our city.” Roller skates will be provided to attendees, so get ready to skate-dance all day and night at Faena Forum!

November 16-18

Presented by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the 22nd Annual Florida Classic will host multiple events over a three-day course to help fund research for Cystic Fibrosis. The first day consists of registration and package giveaways, as well as a Beach Bash at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale. An open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and live music will be provided to get the fun going! On Friday, the entertainment level is raised with a Golf Tournament that includes breakfast, lunch and an awards ceremony. At night, show up at the Ritz-Carlton again for an “Intimate Evening with Jon Secada.” There will be an open bar, dinner, and silent and live auctions. On Saturday, the last day of the event, there’s a Fishing Tournament and awards reception to end this exciting weekend.

November 18

Have you ever dreamed of living in a castle, complete with a garden and bay view? Well, you can live that dream for the night as Vizcaya royalty at the museum’s 61st Annual Ball. It runs from 7pm to 12 am and all of the proceeds go towards the preservation of the legendary and historical site. It was once home to James Deering in 1914, who was basically a Miami version of Jay Gatsby. This fancy, upscale event will start off with a red carpet entrance into the breathtaking garden and Courtyard, where there will be a cocktail soiree. Next, while overlooking Biscayne Bay, enjoy an elegant dinner and socialize with the rest of the party’s guests. Finally, at the end of the night, grab a special someone and hold them tight for the grand fireworks show. This event will be sure to light up your world!

Boogie on down while supporting efforts to empower SoFlo at-risk youth at Retrogia! Located in Mana Wynwood, make sure to dress eighties-inspired chic as you dance the night away to Madonna, Prince and more! Y-100’s Chris Cruz will be the host, a live DJ will be spinning the turntables, and live dance performances will wow you all night. Hors d’oeuvres from Estefan’s Kitchen will be provided after your appetite is worked up, and then you can cool down with an array of themed cocktails. Get ready to bust out your best moonwalk at this eighties event.

November 18

Do you melt at the sound of the saxophone? Do you frequent jazz clubs and dream of New Orleans? Well, there’s an event for you this month, right in Sunny Isles! At Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest, pay $10 general admission, bring a chair or blanket and get ready to relax as you enjoy the smooth sensations of jazz. This year, six-time Grammy nominees The Spinners will perform as well as Cornell Gunter’s Coasters featuring Edwin Cook, and Lourdes Valentin. Food vendors will be on site, so you can satisfy both your ears and your appetite. Don’t miss out on this wonderful festival!

November 18 & 19

Get ready to experience the largest personal watercraft racing series in the world! P1 AquaX Grand Prix is a family friendly event that’s packed with loads of fun in the sun. It will feature more than 65 jet skis, wave runners, and Sea-Doo personal watercraft racers from all over the globe. They will be competing at speeds higher than 70 MPH as they jump and ride the waves all day long. The show starts at 10 am and ends at 3 pm with merchandise tents offering giveaways and merch both days. Take advantage of the SoFlo heat and enjoy November as you head out to this action-packed show.

Sundays, 11:30am-3pm

There’s no better way to start off the week than with a full belly, so book a reservation at Forte Dei Marmi. At this intimate Italian hot spot, your brunch will start off at the Bronze Antipasti Bar. Indulge in whatever your grumbling tummy desires as you choose delicacies from Avocado Mango Granola Salad to House Cured Atlantic Salmon. After enjoying countless appetizers, pull out the main menu to select an entrée. Tip: The Grilled Petit Beef Filet with organic fried egg and roasted potatoes is to die for. The meat melts in your mouth and merges with the egg yolk to make a truly mouthwatering combination. To conclude the brunch, don’t forget the sweets! Make your way over to the dessert buffet bar to pick out your last course of the morning. Choose from Vanilla Crème Brûlée, Apple Pie, Chocolate Cake, Cannoli and much more. If you want to lounge a bit longer to enjoy the serene atmosphere, sip on a hot coffee or chilled wine.
