Savor Scrumptious Bites at the Fort Lauderdale Pizza Festival

Over 15,000 pizza lovers will descend onto the cheesy wonderland that will unfold on April 1, from 1p.m. to 6p.m. at the War Memorial Auditorium in Holiday Park, located right in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale.
A special VIP kickoff will be held an hour prior with a proclamation declaring it Fort Lauderdale Pizza Day by the City of Fort Lauderdale. VIP tickets will also include early entrance, special VIP areas, fast access entrance to certain areas, and a swag bag with can’t miss goodies. Limited tickets are available for the VIP experience.
As you enter the festival the aroma of all things pizza will overwhelm you with delight as you enter a room of with countless South Florida vendors. Turn your eyes to the main stage and watch one of our famous local chefs prepare their favorite pizza dishes or watch our pizza eating competition to benefit charity with a cash prize. Once you step outside there will be a laid back festival vibe. You will be able to enjoy live jams from local artists while taking in the crisp spring air and sipping on a refreshing cocktail of your choice. Relax after taking your fill of all the delicious cheesy goodness by kicking back with your friends and playing one of the exciting lawn games. Need to bring the little ones? No problem! A family-friendly kid zone will be available to keep them entertained for hours. There truly will be something for everyone. The Fort Lauderdale Pizza Festival will feature local pizza joints, national pizza brands we know and love, refreshing adult beverages, and local entertainment. Some of the participants include Mellow Mushroom, PizzaCraft, Funky Buddha Brewery, iHeart Media and The Wander Shop, just to name a few.
The Fort Lauderdale Pizza Festival is produced by millennial entrepreneur, Lais Pontes, best known for launching The Pontes Group, a bicoastal branding, public relations and marketing agency that landed the founder on the Forbes 30 under 30 list. She has always had a passion for her hometown and shares, “Since launching The Pontes Group, I always knew I wanted to create a unique event that would bring our community together to eat, laugh and play in the beautiful city we love, all while doing our own little part to give back.” She definitely is hitting the mark with this event.
A portion of all sales will be donated to Feeding South Florida, 2017’s official charity partner. “Relationships like these are so important because they show how easy it is for folks to be part of the hunger-relief solution,” said Sari M. Vatske, Vice President of Community Relations of Feeding South Florida. For every ticket sold, 6 meals will be provided to men, women and children in need of food assistance throughout South Florida.
