Miami’s most upscale, open-air, luxury fashion shops are growing
After more than a decade in the works, the Bal Harbour Shops expansion is finally expected to break ground by the end of the year. The $400 Million enlargement will add 340,000 square feet of floor space to the center. A new wing will replace the current parking garage, and a new garage will be built. Also, a public plaza will replace the Collins Avenue parking lot and a new entrance will be designed to help reduce traffic delays in the area. The Whitmans, owners of the Shops, anticipate it will feature the first Barneys New York flagship store in the southeastern U.S., major upgrades to Neiman Marcus, new luxury boutique retailers, and new dining options including Freds at Barneys.
