Here are a few suggestions on different ways you can improve your looks through cosmetic surgery.
It’s not your imagination. Your nose does look bigger when you snap a selfie. In fact, the nose looks 30 percent larger at one foot away than it does from five feet away. As a facial cosmetic surgeon, many women come to my office seeking a nose job or rhinoplasty. However, when considering any plastic surgery, don’t let a distorted self-image determine your decision, otherwise you are at a higher risk of dissatisfaction.
A reputable cosmetic surgeon will require a full consultation in order to set realistic expectations, and choose the correct surgical or non-surgical procedure to restore a natural, more youthful you. In preparation for the appointment, bring photos of yourself in high school and college as a reference to ensure a refreshed, not artificial appearance.
Many women over the age of 30 can benefit from the following:
Fillers – Dermal fillers can help restore volume in hollow areas of the face, rejuvenate the eyes and cheeks, plump the lips, and soften wrinkles. Brands include Juvederm, Sculptra, and Restylane. Fillers work instantly, but duration of effectiveness depends on the specific product used and site of injection.
Blepharoplasty – Upper eyelid surgery corrects the sagging skin that can make someone appear aged and tired. Lower eyelid surgery removes bags under the eyes. In some cases, fillers may be used instead of surgery for the lower eyelids.
Liquid Facelift – Some patients can get by with a nonsurgical facelift consisting of a combination of Botox/Dysport, dermal fillers, and Sculptra. A liquid facelift can take as little as several weeks to see results and requires minimal downtime. However, it does not correct loose skin of the neck and surgery is the only effective treatment for that area.
Facelift – For sagging of the lower face and neck, a facelift and necklift may be the only answer. Volume may be added with fillers sometime after the facelift.
Brow Lift – Also known as a forehead lift, this treatment corrects sagging brows that droop over the upper eyelids and is often done in combination with an upper eyelid surgery.
