Larger Than Life #27 Giancarlo Stanton

With the world’s largest sports contract at $325,000,000 (through 2027), Miami Marlins right field, Giancarlo Cruz-Michael Stanton, stands at 6’6” and weighs in at 249 pounds. Graduating from Notre Dame HS (CA) in 2007, he earned All-Southern Section honors in football, basketball and baseball in his senior season and was named Cal-Hi Sports Boys State Athlete of the Year. Drafted in the 2nd round (76th overall) by the Florida Marlins in 2007 he played only 17 games in his first professional season, but was ranked by Baseball America as the Marlins 9th ‘Best Prospect’ and as the ‘Best Power Hitter’ and ‘Best Athlete’ in the organization. At the 2017 World Baseball Classic, in front of an energized crowd and a worldwide audience, he celebrated the USA Team’s 1st Classic Championship. Stanton showcased his remarkable strength in all three rounds of the 2017 Home Run Derby. Out of his 61 homers, 11 went 440 feet or more. He became the first Marlins player to win the Home Run Derby.
