Picture Perfect

The key to soft, smooth skin on your big day is planning and timing. Together, they ensure vibrant results with longevity and the least amount of sensitivity. Take away some of the pre-wedding stress and prepare for your honeymoon with these simple suggestions.

As with every aspect of a wedding, organization is essential. I recommend brides to schedule their first appointment three months before their wedding date to discuss the right plan for achieving their most magnificent skin and a glowing appearance.

In the short and long term, waxing will allow hair growth to become softer and sparser. Most clients are surprised by how quickly their hair changes when they stick to a schedule—the results only get better and better the longer you do it. In most cases, the wax specialist will recommend an appointment every three weeks for the three months leading up to the bride’s big day.

Waxing every two weeks for a bikini line and every three to four weeks for a Brazilian bikini service, allows the proper amount of time for regrowth. It is important that the bride follows the post-wax directions from her wax specialist. Wait several days between the final waxing and the big event to let any sensitivity calm down. And don’t forget to exfoliate and moisturize between appointments in order to keep skin looking healthy and suave.

Eyebrow shaping is vital prior to a wedding. It will accentuate the bride’s eyes and frame her face. Under a veil or not, eyes will reflect every emotion of the day, so be sure to define the perfect eyebrow shape for your face. Wax appointments should be a relaxing “me-time” experience you look forward to every couple of weeks. For best results, stay on a consistent schedule and use the products recommended by the specialist.

For beautiful wedding legs, consider the full or half leg wax (and pay attention to toes if wearing open toe shoes). It’s also critical to focus on underarms, especially if you’re wearing a strapless or sleeveless gown. Finally, don’t forget that facial hair can show up in those close-up photographs; keep the attention on your great smile!

Conveniently, all of the services and products that help a bride prepare for her wedding day, also help her get ready for her honeymoon. Since many honeymoons are in warm weather destinations near the beach, keep up the routine to make sure “swimsuit time” is simply gorgeous.
