United Way of Broward County Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention and Broward Behavioral Health Coalition (BBHC), presented the 4th Annual Behavioral Health Conference: The Power of Prevention on May 15th and 16th at Signature Grand in Davie, Florida. Approximately 500 professionals in the behavioral health service field participated in the conference, which promoted community awareness and support of behavioral health and substance abuse prevention. The two-day conference included breakout sessions covering topics related to behavioral health and substance abuse prevention and keynote addresses from Austin Eubanks (Columbine shooting survivor), Jerome M. Adams, M.D. (Surgeon General of the United States), Sgt. Kevin Briggs, who talked fellow keynote speaker, Kevin Berthia, back over the ledge of the Golden Gate Bridge, and Darlene Slaughter, United Way Worldwide Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer.
