Abu Dhabi continues to be on the list of top honeymoon destinations and is located at the top of a T-shaped island in the Persian Gulf. This fashionable and very wealthy city is the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi stands tall as offering a modern city experience with a range of activities to keep honeymooners excited. The lure of the Middle East is becoming greater and greater. Couples can go scuba diving, water skiing, sailing and deep sea fishing or simply enjoy a romantic walk along the Corniche.
Abu Dhabi’s pristine Corniche beachfront has been awarded coveted Blue Flag status — the internationally renowned eco-label for beaches and marinas that guarantees clean and safe bathing water. This seafront is one of the largest in the Middle East, lined with verdant gardens and beautiful fountains. Many of the city’s best hotels and restaurants including the well-known Emirates Palace Hotel, said to be the most expensive in the world, line the downtown section overlooking countless sandy islets. You can enjoy a romantic al fresco meal in one of its luxurious restaurants and finish it off with a visit to one of the many jazz clubs and bars that help complete your evenings with style.
Abu Dhabi, itself an island, is surrounded by dozens of other islands, many of which are being developed for leisure, business, and residential areas. This capital city has almost 250 miles of pristine coastline, tranquil oases, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, modern cityscapes, rocky, mountain-like heights, and awe-inspiring deserts. Visitors can tour former palaces, forts, one of the world’s largest mosques, renovated oases, and desert camps, and experience falconry, camel trekking and Arabia’s hospitality.
