Keep it light by trying this month’s refreshing springtime cocktail and enjoy the luxurious aroma of cucumber and basil.
• 3 cucumber rings sliced at ¼ inch thick
• 3 large fresh basil leaves
• 1 tsp. sugar
• 1.5 oz. vodka
• 0.5 oz. elderflower liquor
• 0.75 oz. lemon
• 0.5 oz. simple syrup
• 2 dashes of angostura orange bitters
INSTRUCTIONS: First, place cucumbers into a small tin. Next, muddle to smash the cucumbers and follow that by adding the basil leaves. Press to express oils from leaves. Add citrus, sugar, spirit, elderflower, bitters, and vodka. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Double strain shaken cocktail over fresh ice. Garnish with a basil sprig and a cucumber slice.
