THE TALK OF THE TOWN
Weston’s newest crave-worthy eatery is Bocas House in Weston Town Center. Its interior design showcases vibrant colors and patterns, that start to stimulate your senses from the moment you enter. A mix of Venezuelan and Peruvian flavors and traditional dishes is what’s for dinner—or lunch. White, red, pink and sparkling variations of their house sangria make the perfect partner for your meal while one-of-a-kind milkshake towers will send you home full of delight.
To start your meal off light and on a customary Peruvian note, order one of the many kinds of ceviche offered. We went for the steak. The anticipation was only intensified by the incredible scents coming from the kitchen. We incessantly picked at the Pastel de Cachapa (a Venezuelan-style sweet corn cake made with fresh ground corn topped with white cheese crumbles and crema) until a succulent entraña and a colossal Tomahawk made their way over to our table. When the juicy meat harmoniously joined the Guasacaca and homemade chimichurri sauce, it was love at first bite! The companions: golden yucca fries, mashed plantains and arroz de la casa prepared with toasted nuts, scallions and blonde raisins, were just as delicious.
THE LEANING TOWER OF JOY
Although there was little room left for dessert, we knew we had to try one of Bocas’ specialty milkshakes. A cookies & cream shake filled a Nutella and Oreo rimmed glass and served as the base for a Blondie brownie, a vanilla ice cream scoop, more Oreo pieces and a Nutella syringe for an additional chocolaty drizzle. If you choose to celebrate your birthday with them, a sprinkle cake version of this sweet tower of happiness will be on the house…Wish granted!
