TUNA POKÉ & TARO CHIPS (YIELDS 1 SERVING)
• 4 oz. Sashimi quality tuna
• ½ oz. Fine chopped red onions
• 1 Tbsp. Sesame seeds
• 1 ½ Tsp. Soy sauce
• 2 Tsp. Sesame oil
• A pinch of sea salt
• A pinch of Japanese chili spice Shichimi Togarashi
• Black pepper (optional)
• Chopped chives
• Vegetable oil
PREPARATION OF TARO CHIPS:
Thinly slice the taro and deep fry in vegetable oil at 365-degrees. Once out of the fryer, add sea salt and black pepper to taro chips. Optionally, taro chips may be purchased for quicker preparation.
PREPARATION OF TUNA POKÉ BOWL:
Dice sashimi quality tuna into small bite size pieces. Add finely chopped red onions. Add soy sauce, sea salt, Shichimi Togarashi, sesame oil to sashimi and red onions, and toss to mix ingredients. Sprinkle the sesame seeds and chopped chives. Serve the tuna poké in a bowl with taro chips on the side. Enjoy!
