Il Mulino New York

NY MEETS SOBE
If you’re looking for great Italian food, then look no further. Il Mulino New York is a classy upscale Italian restaurant located on beautiful South Beach. This restaurant offers classic Italian cuisine, and an atmosphere that combines Art Deco scenes with the sophistication of New York. While being seated at the table, three waiters rushed over to serve us water and offered a tray of different breads to choose from, along with a piece of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and truffle chips. The bread and truffle zucchini chips are made daily and were a great way to start off the evening as we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.

WINE & DINE
After looking over the menu, my guest and I decided on a couple of glasses of 2016 Le Volte Dell’ Ornellaia, red wine. For starters, we opted for the Caprese salad, which was made with fresh mozzarella, red-ripened tomatoes, and sweet basil. It was lightly drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, and lightly seasoned with salt and black cracked pepper. Next, we ordered their special of the day, Ravioli ai Porcini. This ravioli dish was stuffed with truffle mushrooms and was made to perfection. The texture was rich, the raviolis weren’t overly-stuffed, the truffle didn’t over power the dish, and the pasta was cooked al dente. The red wine nicely complemented these dishes for a great pairing!

SWEETLY IRRESISTIBLE
As I sipped on a nice hot cup of cappuccino and glanced over their dessert menu, I ordered the Tiramisu. I just couldn’t resist the lady fingers infused with espresso and coffee liqueur, layered with mascarpone cream. It was love at first bite! The Tiramisu had a perfect consistency— not too soggy, a hint of Amaretto, and just the right amount of coffee and sweetness. Il Mulino offers a wonderful dining experience and we will be coming back to try other dishes!
