Le Jardinier is a French modern restaurant from Michelin-starred Chef Alain Verzeroli where local, seasonal produce, fresh herbs and greens are complemented by wild and sustainable protein sources. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating which are meant to evoke a fun, tropical garden in the heart of The Miami Design District. Le Jardinier is an upscale restaurant to go for a special occasion or fancy date night. The décor throughout is retro-glam with a modern aesthetic. The contemporary space features one-of-a-kind, custom- made black and white marble walls and floors, marble tables, gorgeous green accents, and eye-catching light fixtures.

In French, Le Jardinier means “gardener”, from its vegetable forward menu my guest and I first ordered a cocktail called Fresita from their Signature Cocktails. Fresita is made with tequila blanco, and mezcal infused with Espelette peppers, strawberry shrub, lime, and agave. We both enjoyed this adult beverage. It was refreshing with a slight smoky taste on the back end. To accompany our drinks, for starters, we ordered a light salad that came with burrata, stone fruits, marcona gremolata, tomato, basil and garnished with edible colorful flowers. The tomato, basil, and burrata really work well together with balancing out the acidity from the tomato. For our main entrée, we both had the endive salad, heritage chicken breast, romesco sauce, and spring radish. At first bite, the chicken was tender and juicy. The romesco sauce had a wonderful nutty taste and complemented the dish along with the radish and the salad.

After having a fantastic meal, we were ready to dig into dessert. We tried two different desserts; plant-based ice cream and a white chocolate cheesecake with mango and passion fruit gelée. When the waiter came to our table with the plantbased ice cream, we were delighted to receive three different flavors of ice cream: espresso, pistachio, and chocolate. They were incredibly creamy in texture and quite flavorful too. It was a delicious treat. The white chocolate cheesecake with mango and passion fruit gelée was light, fluffy, and perfectly balance with sweetness from the white chocolate and tartness from the mango and passion fruit. We will definitely come back to try other delectable dishes.
