A Luxury Boutique Steakhouse

Get Starr-struck at Steak 954 by culinary impresario Stephen Starr, the creator of New York City’s acclaimed Buddakan and Morimoto restaurants. Enter under the watchful eyes of the centerpiece of the restaurant, a 15-foot long reef aquarium home to mesmerizing jellyfish, and a rare and spectacular sight. As you dine by spectacular ocean views, you will enjoy the comforts of the cozy chic decor to lingering and mingling at the Whiskey Blue bar. The ambiance combines mediums of dark woods, bold floral silk wall panels; organic materials and clean lines to create a breezy, tropical feel on a palate of vibrant blues and greens. Decadent indulgences dished in distinctive settings await your exploration, immersion, savoring, lingering, mingling, socializing, canoodling and celebrating.
With Steak 954, Starr has created a new territory for classic steaks, where the pure and simple flavors of dry-aged meats are showcased with a sterling cast of sides and sauces in a chic yet comfortable resort-style setting. On weekends, wake up to brunch featuring omelets, creative platters dished out Benedict-style, select offerings from the lunch and dinner menus, and a deliciously creative cocktail menu. Well done is the bar that’s well stocked with a buzz-worthy selection of fine wines and cocktails created with exotic ingredients and time-honored techniques, served with Fort Lauderdale flair.
We were mesmerized with the Seafood Platter loaded with east and west oysters, jumbo shrimp, Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab, and lobster and crab coconut ceviche. Delicious pan seared scallops, crab cakes and Wagyu sliders were mouthwatering and savory. Don’t miss the big eye tuna and foie gras tacos as well as the beef tartare The Creamy lobster bisque and French onion soup are rich and flavorful. Chilled and beautiful are the chopped salad, the wedge, tomato and mozzarella, baby beet and Caesar salad, all perfectly dressed and enough to share.
Cooked to perfection is the tender and juicy bone-in filet, prime dry aged rib eye and NY strip, dry aged porterhouse or an American Waygu New York strip, filet or skirt steak. For meat lovers, the selections are a dream come true and the Waygu beef is simply mouthwatering. For a special treat, try the incredibly rich Waygu cheesesteak. Decadent butter poached Maine lobster melted in our mouths and the pan roasted bronzino, miso glazed black cod and organic salmon were fresh from the ocean. Also indulge on Colorado lamb chops, roasted natural chicken and bone-in beef short rib. There are a variety of side dishes which are large enough to share and include truffle potato au gratin, stuffed hash browns, mushrooms and onions, smoked cauliflower and kale as well as tater tots, Brussels sprouts and creamed spinach.
For a sweet ending, don’t miss the decadent chocolate soufflé with salted caramel ice cream, creamy key lime baked Alaska, or luscious frozen chocolate and peanut butter layer cake. Warm rustic cherry tart and chocolate and cherry bread pudding hit the spot. Chocolate lovers don’t miss the sinfully delicious double caramelized chocolate custard with pecan streusel.
With more than 20 years in the hospitality and entertainment industries, Starr likens the experience of dining out to that of attending a theater production where the players, props, backdrops, lighting and rapport are integral components of the over all dramatic effect. When this atmospheric dramatic effect is paired with edgy delicious cuisine, dining out at Steak 954 becomes entertainment for all of the senses.
