Technically Artsy

ARTECHOUSE, MIAMI’S NEWEST MUSEUM AND “INSTAGRAM’S NEWEST OBSESSION,” BLENDS ARTS, MUSIC, FILM AND TECHNOLOGY FOR A UNIQUE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE.

Artechouse, appropriately located on the busy Collins Ave. in Miami Beach, aims to serve as a new kind of art experience. It proves that technology alone can survive as an art piece, with interactive light installations and illusions that create mind-bending displays. At this museum, you certainly won’t encounter any “Do not touch” signs, as guest interaction is a key part of the exhibits and their function. Artechouse’s very first exhibit is “XYZT: Abstract Landscapes,” by French digital artists Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne. Described as an “exploratory physical experience through ten digital landscapes,” the exhibit will feature kinetic sand, clouds that take on your physical shape, and geometric touchable light fields, to name a few. Additionally, you can manipulate a wall with your hands, and walk through a digital field of grass!

Miami isn’t the first location to welcome Artechouse; in fact, this is the third site of the fresh, innovative museum. It began its journey in Washington D.C., followed by a second installation in New Mexico due to popularity. The 305 was coincidentally the third city to approve of the museum as the latest addition to the Miami art scene, which continues to grow with Pérez Art Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art Miami, World Erotic Art Museum, The BASS museum, and more!
