IS A WACKY WONDER IN CORAL GABLES
THE GRAMERCY, AN AMERICAN BRASSIERE CONCEPT FROM THE TEAM BEHIND KIKI ON THE RIVER, DEBUTED ON MIRACLE MILE BACK IN DECEMBER. IT HAS ALREADY IMPRESSED BOTH THE LOCAL AND VISITING CROWD WITH ITS LIP-SMACKING MENU AND INSTAGRAM-WORTHY DESIGN.
The restaurant, designed by Mark Lehmkuhl of Ghost House Creative Group, takes inspiration from the glamour and charm of New York City power dining rooms. It references famous NYC spots like The Waldorf and Grand Central with grand columns, large booths, exposed brick, velvet banquettes, French tile, and prime oak floors. Fun embellishments can be seen throughout The Gramercy, like the neon red “Heartbreak Hotel” sign, a rose elevator that leads to nowhere, and a Salvador Dali art piece with the words “You Can’t Sit With Us” below it.
Dishes focus on brasserie classics brought to life with a contemporary spin. Think East and West Coast Oysters, Truffle Caviar Deviled Eggs, and Steak Tartare for appetizers. As for the entrees, expect delightful heartier items like the popular “The Gram” Burger, made with a nine-ounce Waygu Beef patty, Maytag Blue Cheese, Caramelized Onion, and Frisee on a Potato Bun.
Sushi lovers will be pleased with the sushi bar, helmed by Chef Sylvio Richardson, formerly of Nobu, in a beaux arts setting. Expect tasty maki rolls like the Salmon Caviar Roll, composed of Salmon, Caviar, and Yuzu Den Miso sauce drizzled with Truffle Oil— plus some other unbeatable rolls!
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss out on dessert! The massive Banana Split is scrumptious with banana, ice cream, and toasted nuts, all topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce with maraschino cherries.
Finally, if you’re looking to get your drink on, The Gramercy has got plenty to choose from. Signature drinks are thoughtfully blended and draw their inspiration from classics. There’s the “Creme De La Crème,” made with vodka, coconut liquor, vermouth and a watermelon ice cube; the “Smoke & Mirrors,” with rye whiskey, Montenegro amaro, cynar, orange bitters and truffle tincture, and even more creative concoctions. A comprehensive wine program is also available, with a robust selection of wines by the glass and bottle selections from both established and cutting-edge wineries.
