Dancing Into 2020

Celebrate the new year with these beautiful and entertaining venues in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Soak in great views at Wharf Fort Lauderdale, party hard at the new DAER Nightclub, and catch a cabaret show at La Otra in Brickell. Cheers to the new year!

2808 N. Miami Ave., Miami

Spanglish Cocktail Bar represents the intertwining of Miami’s American and Latin-American culture, and you can see the influence in the ambiance, menu, and even drinks! Food items include treats like Croqueta Buns, Coconut Shrimp Ceviche, and Churrasco Tiradito. For the cocktails, get ready to have a blast with creations like the Vuela Paloma (Don Julio Blanco Tequila, Yellow Bell Pepper, Fresh Lime, Grapefruit, Ginger, Cilantro Tincture) which comes in a glass shaped like a bird, and the Cafetera Old Fashioned, which comes in an actual cafetera and is made with Brugal 1888, Cigar Bitters, and Cold Brew Coffee Reduction. ¡Que fuerte!

335 S.W. 8th St., Brickell

If you’re looking to switch up your nightlife options, look no further than La Otra. This bar and cabaret in Brickell just debuted late last year and is owned by the original owner of the popular Sidebar, which inhabited the same space years ago. Reggaeton, salsa, and other Latin genres will get your feet moving all night, but if you prefer to sit back and relax, pop in on a Saturday for a cabaret show like no other. Conga players and other musicians treat the crowd to live music while cabaret dancers put on extravagant performances in sexy sparkly outfits. La Otra is an amazing alternative to a typical night in Miami.

1 Seminole Way, Hollywood

DAER Nightclub at the brand new Guitar Hotel at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino just opened last year and it’s already a mega hit. Maybe that’s because they’ve went out of their way to ensure a night here is a night to remember. A high-performance LED centerpiece is one of the first things you see when you walk in, and then there’s the massive folding glass window and the state-of-the-art Function One sound system. So far, Bingo Players, Zedd, Nelly, Method Man, DJ Irie, and more have played here. Imagine who else the new year will bring in!

20 W. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale

Fans of the Wharf Miami, watch out—a new wharf is in town… Wharf Fort Lauderdale! This new location is right on the New River, perfect for a couple of drinks with friends, all while enjoying a beautiful view. Have some fun on the Astroturf-covered entrance area, which has games like cornhole and table tennis. There’s also a seesaw, if you can handle it after a couple of drinks. Also on site are five tasty food trucks: seafood from Even Keel, classic American fare from Lunchroom, Hou Mei Asian Cuisine, pizza from Piefather, and sweets by Mojo Donuts.

1306 N. Miami Ave., Miami

Who could forget Electric Pickle? The iconic dance club in Miami unfortunately closed down last year, but the owners behind it have debuted a new venue: ATV Records. ATV, standing for “Addicted to Vinyl,” is a record store and nightclub that will certainly serve as a favorite to music lovers. During the day, browse the many unique vinyls that line the shelves, and at night prepare to bust some moves out on the dance floor under a UFO-shaped disco ball. Music will remain in the same type of genre that once played at Electric Pickle, including the house and EDM DJs that loved to perform there. Whatever you do, bring your dancing shoes!

1309 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale

Las Olas restaurant and bar, The Balcony, just keeps getting better. Last August they introduced their new ground-floor concept: Bo’s Pub. This upscale sports bar features TVs playing live sports, including a massive 12-by-5 foot LED one. This is definitely a bar that you would come to to watch the latest Dolphins or Heat game! The food menu is led by Executive Chef Simon Porter and has irresistible grub like tuna avocado tostadas, Bo’s Buffalo Wings, Short Rib Tacos, a vegan Beyond burger with mashed avocado, and more. As for the drinks, their happy hour is 4-7, Monday through Friday, so head on over and get creative with those cocktail concoctions!
