Howie Mandel returns as the headline performer at The Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance Gala Dinner Auction & Show at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
Howie Mandel has remained a constant force in show business for over 30 years. Residing in Los Angeles with his wife, Terry, and their three children, Mandel is the executive producer of many shows with his production company, ALEVY PRODUCTIONS. Howie Mandel also serves as one of the judges on NBC’s hit talent competition series America’s Got Talent alongside Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howard Stern. Recognized as an Emmy nominee for “Outstanding Host For A Reality or Reality-Competition Program” for Deal or No Deal and “Outstanding Game Show Host” for the syndicated version of the show from the Daytime Emmys, Mandel’s versatile career has encompassed virtually all aspects of the entertainment spectrum, including television, film and stage.
Beginning in 1979, Howie started his career on a dare in Toronto and soon after coaxed by his friends to get up and try his luck. There was a producer in the crowd who immediately hired him to appear on the comedy game show Make Me Laugh. His appearance on the show led to talk show appearances, a stint as Diana Ross’ opening act and eventually to the television series St. Elsewhere, where Howie spent six seasons as “Dr. Wayne Fiscus” on the award-winning NBC drama.
Howie’s Emmy Award-nominated animated children series Bobby’s World ran eight seasons on FOX and now appears in syndication six days a week in 65 countries. As the series’ creator and executive producer, Howie was closely involved in its writing, as well as providing the voice of Bobby, Bobby’s dad and other characters. Howie attributes the show’s success to drawing the story lines from real life.
In 2009, Howie added another title to his resume, author, when he released his frank, funny, no-holds-barred memoir Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me. The memoir that revealed his ongoing struggle with OCD and ADHD–and how it has shaped his life and career–made the New York Times Bestseller list on its first week and remained on the list for several consecutive weeks.
Howie has done countless comedy specials both on cable and network television. He has also hosted his own syndicated talk show, The Howie Mandel Show, and continues to be a mainstay on the talk-show circuit. Presently, Howie continues to perform as many as 200 concerts a year throughout the US and Canada, including his return as the headline performer at The Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance black-tie optional Gala Dinner Auction & Show at the Boca Raton Resort & Club on Saturday February 21.
The Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance, presented by Mercedes-Benz and AutoNation, is a high-profile, national automotive event known for delivering an unforgettable weekend of philanthropy, comedy, and stellar automobile and motorcycle displays. Now in its ninth year, the Concours will celebrate Cadillac as the featured marque and the 50th Anniversary of Ford Mustang. Keith Crain, Editor-in-Chief of Automotive News and Ted Morse of Ed Morse Automotive will be honored as recipients of the 2015 Automotive Lifetime Achievement Awards along with avid car collector, Ralph Marano as the recipient of the 2015 Lee Iacocca Award at the Gala Dinner Auction & Show. The tremendous weekend of events on February 20-22, 2015 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Florida will also feature well-known female automotive artist Gloria Jones Hacker.
Founded by Rita and Rick Case of Rick Case Automotive Group and under the direction of Event Chair James E. McDonnell, IV along with Honorary Chair Mike Jackson, the Boca Raton Concours is all to benefit a deserving cause, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and the 12,500 children that attend the 12 Clubs. The Concours team is comprised of about 200 volunteers who dedicate their time to the planning and execution of the event.
Friday kicks off the weekend of events with the duPont Registry™ Live Hangar Party at the Boca Raton Airport. The evening offers guests a chance to experience select gourmet tastings from more than 20 of South Florida’s finest restaurants and peruse a fine display of exotic cars, custom motorcycles, extravagant boats, private jets, vintage aircrafts, luxury motor coaches, premier vendors, and more.
Saturday features the black-tie optional Gala Dinner Auction & Show at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by a seated dinner and live auction featuring one-of-a-kind trips and experience packages, luxury jewelry, and back by popular demand a stellar performance by a renowned TV star and comedian Howie Mandel.
The weekend concludes on Sunday with the Automobile & Motorcycle Exhibition at the Boca Raton Resort & Club featuring an automotive showcase with over 200 collector cars and motorcycles from around the country. An expert panel of judges will select the finest vehicles based on pre-set criteria, with an awards presentation to winning entries. Guests are also invited to walk through a series of vendor tents including the Boca Raton Concours tent which offers hats, T-shirts and commemorative Concours program magazines, posters and pins from the previous and current year, plus enjoy a selection of gourmet food, wine and cocktails from more than 30 of South Florida’s finest restaurants in the Concours d’Gourmet Pavilions.
