Kick Back and Relax

This month, we take a different approach for our nightlife page by providing you with a number of bars that are simply more “chill.” Take in soothing views on some fine rooftop bars, sip a craft cocktail by a fireplace in Brickell, or treat yourself to a drink that will whisk away whatever it is that ails you.

1300 S. Miami Ave., Miami

The newly revamped SAAM Lounge at SLS Brickell is a cozy spot made for late-night cocktails with friends. The chill, chic lounge is decorated with safari-inspired décor like African masks, antique globes, and more, and features both an indoor and outdoor space. It’s decorated with comfortability in mind, invoking a familiar feel as if you’re relaxing in your own home. A soothing fireplace, as well as lovely views of downtown Miami are featured outside, and inside you can grab curated craft cocktails and bites by José Andrés. Try The La Rosa for a fun, fruity drink: belvedere vodka, strawberries, and rose water. Delish!

Sunset Place, 5701 Sunset Dr., Miami

Popular shopping mall Sunset Place recently got a new food hall, Yumbrella, and it comes with a one-of-a-kind bar, The Tonic. This apothecary-style watering hole aims to take you back to a time when alcohol was medicinal. Their cocktails come mixed with elixirs, herbs, kombucha, fruits, natural juices, and more—giving it a more “healthy” spin than your typical rum and coke, or vodka water lime. They also have craft beer, and a full wine and liquor menu, if that’s more your thing. Another perk? Live entertainment plays at the bar quite often, with a mix of jazz acts, DJs, and bands!

777 N. Ocean Dr., Hollywood

The luxury Costa Hollywood Resort has added some style and flair to Hollywood Beach. With its chic and modern design, the hotel attracts patrons that are both old and young, and locals and tourists alike. Their seventh floor rooftop bar, Cielo Restaurant & Sky Bar, is one of the best places to hang out around Hollywood Beach. Handcrafted signature cocktails and homemade artisanal bites make up the menu, and splendid views of the Atlantic Ocean and the canals of Hollywood Beach are easily seen. Try the Smooth Criminal if you’re feeling suave, which comes with Ketel One Vodka, St. Germain, watermelon/ garden, and mint lime!

270 N.W. 23rd St., Miami

Right in the heart of Wynwood, there’s a lounge that welcomes you to just…chill. Proyecto Tulum was inspired by Tulum, a popular vacation destination in Mexico, and it’s visible in the food, the cocktails, and even the décor. This outdoor bar is decorated with lots of wood furniture, plants, and boho items like dream catchers and colorful pillows that act as seats on the floor. A food truck serves up delicious Mexican food like tacos and elotes, while the cocktails vary from margaritas to mezcal concoctions. Local artists’ artworks are also displayed here; Proyecto Tulum aims to be a space for all forms of artistry.

801 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale

Florida can be irksome at times…the heat, the mosquitos, the traffic. However, one thing we know how to do right is a beachside bar. We love our beachside bars in SoFlo, and the High Tide Lounge is a definite highlight. Perched on the rooftop of the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach, this bar and lounge provides breathtaking views of the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean. Local craft beer selections and fun cocktails like “Peach, Don’t Kill My Vibe” make up the drinks menu, and yummy bar bites like southwest yucca fries and crab cake burgers are featured on the eats menu. Tbh, what more do you need?

1780 Polk St., Hollywood

Hollywood is up-and-coming with rooftop bars, kava bars, and fine dining restaurants continuing to pop up and embellish the scene. Check out skyline views at The Muse Rooftop Bar and Lounge at the Circ Hotel. Located in the heart of Hollywood by Young Circle, this rooftop bar has it all. Wonderful views, plenty of chairs to lounge in, and of course, libations! Enjoy signature cocktails, brews, and wine, as well as some of their tasty “light bites” like sushi, poke tacos, or tuna tataki. Oh and remember, when you take that perfect selfie with the skyline, make sure to use their hashtag: #MuseViews.
