This month, you can help a great cause by tasting wine and sampling top restaurant foods, playing poker with celebrities, shopping at the mall with your friends, playing golf at a prestige course, or making a dash to the finish line!

The American Lung Association is hosting the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival (LOWFF) this year in Fort Lauderdale. Bring your family and friends along to enjoy the festivities, but remember, you must be 21+ to attend this event. Come and join the fun for an amazing five block celebration out on the famous Las Olas Boulevard. Not only will there be sips and samples from 40+ nationally recognized wineries and 50+ elite restaurants throughout SoFlo, but The American Lung Association will also be adding a breath of fresh air for the culinary inclined. Admission is $150 per person, and tickets are all-inclusive: covers the entrance, adult beverages, food samples, and access to all lounges. There will also be giveaways throughout the festival, so get ready to enjoy all the experiential showcases!

Get your poker face on and prepare yourself for a day of fun at the 5th Annual Charity Poker Tournament at Lobster Bar. Celebrities, philanthropists, pro-athletes, and artists will gather to play in this poker tournament. Funds raised will benefit thousands of students served by After School All-Stars South Florida. Since 1992, After-School has been helping students succeed in life and in school by providing a comprehensive after school program and transformative opportunities targeting the middle school youths. Donate and participate!

Shopping is great, especially when you shop for a great cause. Make your way over with your friends to Lilly Pulizer store at The Gardens Mall for the Springtime “Shop & Share”. Proceeds from all sales between 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as they honor and celebrate the life of eight-year-old Emma, who has battled leukemia and won! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer with the mission to cure Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma, leukemia, and lymphoma. Get there early to get the best selections!

Come out for a day of sporting fun at the Wellington National Golf Club for the Clinics Can Help 6th Annual Golf Classic with a 1 pm shotgun start. Proceeds from the Golf Classic will go to the CCH’s Kinder Project, the organization’s program supporting families of children with special needs. Many of the children in CCH’s Kinder Project are affected by serious medical conditions and would not be able to afford the supplies and equipment that enables them to lead more independent lives. The Golf Classic will have prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive, hole-in-one, and putting contest. Following the games, the players and attendees are invited to enjoy delicious food, a silent auction, and an awards ceremony!

It’s time to put your sneakers on and join thousands of walkers and runners at the Huizenga Park in Fort Lauderdale as they make strides in the ongoing fight against drunk driving during the 9th Annual Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K. This MADD event is Broward County’s annual signature fundraising event to support their mission to end drunk driving. It takes place in over 90 cities in the U.S., including Ft. Lauderdale. You may also bring your child(ren) along, as the day’s festivities will also include children’s activities, live musical performances, awards ceremony, and vendor/educational booths. Awards will also be given for the top fundraiser, top team (private and corporate), as well as overall and age-group awards for 5K finishers!
