May the Night Take You Away

This month, we’ve got an eclectic couple of options for your nightlife adventures. Relax on a rooftop with some pretty views, test your luck getting into an exclusive club, and try out tons of new craft beers at two of Fort Lauderdale’s most well-known dive bars.

320 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach

Mr. Jones is one of Miami’s best nightclubs for Hip-Hop music. Past performers have included Quavo, Future, Tory Lanez, Meek Mill, and Kodak Black. While Hip-Hop is the main genre that the club plays, Latin music is also thrown into the mix on Saturdays, and House on Sundays. The venue is an upscale, neon-lit world of beauty, with a huge statue of a giraffe on one side of the club, and a purple and pink lit up DJ booth on the other. Some blues and bright yellows are also thrown into the theme of the place, making it look Pandora-like. Mr. Jones is definitely the place to be on the weekend; dance to some rap in a gorgeous venue, what more could you desire?

1921 Collins Ave., Miami Beach

Are you even from Miami if you haven’t heard of Mynt Lounge? This exclusive nightclub is known for having a strict dress code and picky bouncers. If you don’t look the part, you might not get in, but that’s what makes it exciting. Due to the VIP-esque vibe, celebrities are often seen dancing throughout the crowd, and the best DJs play House here until the early hours of the morning. A full bar and attentive table service also make this hot spot a favorite among all types of party goers. Dress your best and test your luck!

15 N.E. 11th St., Miami

E11even is one of Miami’s most famous party destinations, and has been, for years. However, if you’re tired of that “party hard” scene, take a trip upstairs to the Rooftop at E11even, a rooftop lounge and restaurant that provides a more laid back vibe. Live entertainment and DJs perform at the lounge on a weekly basis, and you have the option to get up and dance, or sit back and relax on their comfortable sofas. A 16ft x 10ft LED screen plays sports on game day, and fire pit tables are close by, in case of a chilly night. Order one of their hand-crafted specialty cocktails and enjoy the view!

901 Progresso Dr., Fort Lauderdale

Laser Wolf, located in Fort Lauderdale’s historic Progresso Plaza, is a dive bar that is all about their drinks. Even their motto is “Yes Beer, No Jerks.” They offer beer from “some of the finest breweries locally and around the world” with 12 rotating draft lines and over 100 cans and bottles of different beers. The bar is also all about supporting the local scene; they host art shows, pop up shops, food trucks, record swap meets, beer tastings, and more. Make sure to check out their events calendar so you don’t miss out!

10 S. New River Dr. E., Fort Lauderdale

A true historic gem lies in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Historic Downtowner is a riverside restaurant and bar that has been around since the Roaring 20’s. Patrons who come here for a casual late night drink will be rewarded with a great view of the water, and a wide selection of wine and cocktails. Try the Blueberry Mint Margarita or the Watermelon Mojito for a refreshing fruity beverage! The restaurant also hosts fun weekly events like Sunday brunch, Trivia Tuesdays, and live music on Saturday nights.

320 S.W. 2nd. St., Fort Lauderdale

The Original Fat Cat’s is a dive bar that has created a name for itself in FTL. It constantly attracts both newcomers and returning customers back into its red-lit venue, and there’s a couple of reasons why. For starters, the staff is known to be welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, recommending only the best of their 80 different beer choices. Another factor is the live music that plays every day of the week, with local bands and artists ripping up the stage. Pool tables beckon you to play a game thanks to some liquid courage, and if that’s not your thing, chill on the front patio, or dance right in front of the stage!
